Paul Brossier is currently maintaining an unofficial version of FreeCycle?, available at:

http://piem.org/debian/

I've asked him about the possibility of uploading it to the official Debian repository, but he'd rather wait for a new upstream release, as this one seems rather resource hungry.

I've tried the package myself and I confirm that the CPU load noticeably increases when running it. Even compiling directly from the orginal tarball leads to the same result, thus is not a problem in the packaging.

About wired the latest released tarball is dated December 8th 2004. We could use a CVS snapshot, but as the application seems to be still in alpha stage I'd rather wait for it to become more mature.
