Description

We are short of a harmonic analyzer to aid in mastering albums. PostQC is a very distant alpha release, but if we could have a copy of it in backports, it might be nice to play with. If it looks good we could include it as a Post 2.1 testing package...

How does PostQC compare to Sonic Visualiser 1.2?

As I understand it, PostQC is only available from SVN, there are no stable releases yet.

sonic visualiser is more of an academic tool, where as far as I can see PostQC has some harmonic balancing functions. In essence I need a tool that would do the same as Har-Bal, except perhaps only as a visualiser, letting you do the work manually in ardour and jamin.

http://www.har-bal.com/

The problem with Har-Bal itself is that it does not have Linux version available, and that it uses a dongle-like software-passport, which I believe is not compatible with wine. I don't want to run a windows system just for mastering...

If I am wrong about the passport, let me know!
