Tool at Desktop -> Administration -> Services is also unstable in version 1.2.0 - bombs as soon as you click on a checkbox.

The bug is still present in the testing repo, syncronised with Debian etch. Apparently the problem has been reported but not yet fixed:

The bug seems to be fixed upstream in version 2.18, however to get it building on etch I had to backport quite a few big packages from sid, including libgtk 2.18. Everthing seems to work, but as these are core components we should test the carfully. I will soon update the testing branch to, at that point upgrades from 1.3.0 will be possible.

The backported packages are in the testing repo. A simple apt-get dist-upgrade should suffice to pull them in. Furthermore you will probably needed to run "sudo 64studio-config new" in order to add the default user created at installation time to the stb-admin group, so that the correct permissions are granted to run the admin tools.

Please test whether everything works, as there could be unspected bugs introduced by using ligtk2.0 version 2.18.

  • status changed from new to closed
  • resolution set to fixed

Seems to be fixed in testing branch, both users and network tool now works as long as the user launching them is in the stb-admin group.
